About:

Amanda began working at Orlando & Associates as an administrative assistant in January of 2006 on a part time basis. Her role at the firm grew to full time office manager; paralegal, and now, associate attorney. Amanda attended the Massachusetts School of Law’s evening program while working full time at Orlando & Associates. She was sworn in as an attorney in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in June of 2024. Amanda is also the firm’s representative to the Cape Ann Business Alliance, a networking group of Cape Ann small business owners.

Amanda was born in Gloucester, raised on Cape Ann and is the proud mother to three sons. After graduating from Boston College in 2001, Amanda began her professional career as a high school English teacher at Manchester-Essex Regional High School, teaching British and American literature to 10th and 11th grade students. In the five years she worked as a teacher, she served as the faculty advisor to the student yearbook; National Honor Society, and Beta Society. She also was the co-coordinator for the high school’s MCAS testing program, as well as a faculty representative for NEASC-the New England Association of Schools and Colleges-where she learned about the accreditation process for New England high schools.

While working as a teacher, Amanda also attained a Master of Arts in Teaching English from Salem State College, graduating in May of 2005. Amanda also served as a member of the Rotary Club of Gloucester from 2015-2020, and co-chaired the annual pancake breakfast fundraiser at Stage Fort Park. Amanda was appointed by Governor Charles Baker in 2017 to be a member of the Public Education Nominating Council, which advises the Governor on appointing professors in our public universities, and as a citizen participant on the Child Advocate Advisory Board, which meets a few times per year to discuss our state agencies and how they can effectively support children’s needs.
